Before & After Care

Balancing Learning & Fun
Before & After School

DCA's before- and after-school care program provides a safe and nurturing place for children during, before and after school hours. These programs are available for school-age children to bridge the time between school and a parent's work schedule, as well as to provide full-time child care during school breaks and summer vacation.

The children will have the opportunity to be creative and form new friendships through free play, arts & crafts, and outdoor activities.  They will also have the opportunity to complete their homework with guidance as needed.  The teachers are here to support your child in completing their homework, which frees up time in the evenings for you to be together as a family.

Whenever school is out, our before and after school program is there to encourage a child's desire for new challenges and opportunities that celebrate their expanding world.

Transportation services between your child’s school and DCA may be available.

Fun & Creative

Fun, creative, engaging opportunities await your child on school day mornings and afternoons. Our program for focuses on creative play, homework support, imaginative activities, and a healthy snack to keep them energized.

Youth Development

Youth development is a process that prepares a young person to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood and achieve his or her full potential. Youth development is promoted through activities and experiences that help youth develop social, ethical, emotional, physical, and cognitive competencies.

As children grow mentally, emotionally and physically, they need support along the way. We've created a Youth Development Roadmap to show key developmental milestones and opportunities in a child's life.

Life Skills Activities

A skill is a learned ability. Life Skills are those competencies that assist people in functioning well in the environments in which they live.

Because skills are best learned through practice, many experiences that teach or reinforce skills must be provided. Mastery of any skill requires opportunities to try, make mistakes, and try again.
